Skin needling is also called micro-needling therapy or collagen induction therapy. It is a minimally-invasive non-surgical and non-ablative procedure for facial rejuvenation that involves the use of a micro-needling device to create controlled skin injury.

ABOUT THE TREATMENT

As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. This neocollagenesis following treatment leads to reduction of scars and skin rejuvenation, i.e., improved skin texture, firmness, and hydration.

We are proud to use Mesoesthetic Medical Grade Ampoules for the best result of the treatment whether to improve scar tissues, pigmentation, or loss of elasticity.

Suitable for thin and sensitive skin, as well as skin with different skin tones. As opposed to ablative laser resurfacing, the epidermis remains intact and is not damaged. For this reason, the treatment can be safely repeated if needed.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for a treatment?

2 weeks prior to treatment you will need to avoid laser hair removal, waxing, peels, injectables, and sun exposure (always wear SPF).

1 week prior to treatment, you will need to avoid exfoliating products such as retinol and exfoliants (physical and chemical).

What does the treatment feel like?

The therapist then applies a numbing cream (topical) to the treatment area. As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound stimulating skin cell regeneration. The skin is punctured in a specific pattern using a skin needling device (pen). The device is rolled over the skin multiple times for best results

It takes a few minutes up to an hour to complete, depending on the area to be treated and the severity of the problem.

Is there any downtime?

After your treatment, it usually takes 24 hours for the redness to subside and you’ll be able to wear makeup. For some clients, it may take 2-3 days depending on your treatment.

How many sessions will I need to get results?

While results can be seen after a single treatment, a minimum of four weeks is recommended between two treatments as it takes that long for new natural collagen to form. Rejuvenation of skin may be seen as soon as 2 weeks and as long as 6-8 months after the procedure.

Who is this treatment not suitable for?

This treatment is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women or someone who has inflamed skin or active acne on the area.
